The Federal Reserve Beige Book Report
Following is a brief summary from the report issued Wednesday:
Reports from the twelve Federal Reserve Districts suggests national activity continued to expand during the reporting period of mid-November through late December with most districts reporting a “modest” or “moderate” pace of growth. In contrast eh Kansas City District reported only slight growth in December though most districts expect somewhat faster growth over coming months. The Dallas District indicated that growth slowed slightly during the reporting period and that several contacts expressed concern about the effect of lower oil prices on the District economy.”
The January 2015 Empire State Manufacturing Survey
Released Thursday morning, it indicates that business activity expanded for New York manufacturers and showed modest growth in new orders and shipments. As has been the case for much of the past year, indexes for the six month outlook pointed to widespread optimism about future conditions.
The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia released its business outlook survey on Thursday:
Manufacturing activity in the region increased modestly in January according to firms responding to this month’s Manufacturing Business Outlook Survey. The survey’s indicators for general activity and new orders fell from their readings in December, suggesting a slower pace of growth. The survey’s indicators of future activity show continued optimism about continued growth over the next six months. The ying and the yang….
US raw steel production
… kicked up 2.3 percent last week as mills operated at an average capability utilization rate (ACUR) of 79.0 percent. In the corresponding week last year mills operated at an ACUR of 75.8 percent. Thus far this year mills have operated at an ACUR of 78.4 percent compared to the same period last year when mills operated at an ACUR of 75.8 percent.

French Prime Minister Manuel Valls declared Saturday that France is at war with radical Islam after the harrowing sieges that led to the deaths of three gunmen and four hostages the day before.” He said “It is a war against terrorism, against jihadism, against radical islam, against everything that is aimed at breaking fraternity, freedom, solidarity.”
The French had to take the lead on this? Finally someone willing to call the rats what they are? But where is the voice of the United States? WE are the leaders and protectors of freedom in this crazy world. Why isn’t the president calling these bastards out? Why aren’t we doing what is necessary to raise awareness, to create a coalition of freedom fighters whose mission is to destroy radical Islam and those who believe in it?
There was a rally of world leaders held in Paris yesterday to show solidarity against radical islam. Noticeably not present among those world leaders were the President of the United States, Barack Obama, the Vice President of the United States, Joe Biden and the Secretary of State, John Kerry. Way to go fella’s! When will you show us something other than golf balls? Grow a set….PLEASE….
Domestic Views
Last Friday afternoon former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney told a meeting of donors that he is considering another White House bid in 2016. His campaign will not be without problems-mostly caused by the poor campaign he ran in 2012. I do think the world would be a better place now had he won the office back then. The good thing is there will be many qualified conservatives from which to choose as the election season evolves over the next two years.
The country is in debt to the tune of $18 trillion and yet the president has proposed making a community college education free (free to whom??) and is also proposing increased paid sick leave for Federal workers (both proposals sound like buying votes to me).
In Belgium on Thursday, 2 terrorists were killed as a result of being involved in a terrorist cell in that country. In the mean time, the idiot in Washington released 5 prisoners from Yemen who had been caught and held at the prison in Guantanamo Bay. This is stinking thinking. What does he suppose these idiots are going to do now that they have been set free? Maybe not today or tomorrow, but they will be back and they will attempt to kill Americans. Our president is a joke…
Here is another joke: the race baiters (Al Sharpton )are upset that no black Americans are in the running for awards at this years’ upcoming Oscar Award ceremony (though “Selma” though historically incorrect, IS up for best picture)and has called for an “emergency meeting” over the Oscar nominations. Why? Who says there MUST be a black person up for awards? It is utterly ridiculous, Obama’s buddy now wants to run the movie industry? No other “left out” Americans are raising a stink. I am so sick and tired of these guys and their bullshit. If they would simply leave the black and white people alone we wouldn’t have these problems. This is how these clowns make a living; by inciting unrest, by lying, by cheating. They are not true Americans, they are thieves and charlatans and should be jailed for instigating civil unrest.

The software program created for the Affordable Healthcare Act, at a cost of $1 billion (thus far) and 3 ½ years to “perfect”, has been unusable to the American people. No one held accountable. The president was unaware.
Spying on our Allies, specifically Angela Merkel of Germany. No one held accountable. The president was unaware. (Although these things go on knowingly between countries all the time, the fact that our president denies knowledge of this is just another sign of his incompetence as the leader of the most powerful country on the planet).
